In early August, we upgraded our mailing list software to PHP List. This change allowed us to address two important issues:
1.) Improved deliverability to ensure that those who want the Monthly News Letter actually receive it.
2.) Convert to a "Double Opt-In" List, requiring a confirmation response email before an address is added to the list.
We have found in the past that errors in how the former mailing list software recognized an e-mail address, especially ones with country codes as the last characters (.uk .ee .ru etc) cause to to malform the address in the list. Thus it failed on delivery to someone who wanted the list. We also had many instances of someone signing up friends and acquaintances without their permission to the list. This cause many abuse complaints and needed to be addressed immediately.
During the first week of August 2007, we resubmitted all email addresses to our new software, cleaned up the duplicates and sent everyone a Request for Confirmation email. Once you click on the link in that email, you will be (re)added to the list of people who receive the Monthly News Letter.
Some of you listed multiple e-mail addresses, home, work and a web based account. You can choose to continue to receive at multiple addresses, or simply reply to ONLY the one you do want to use. We firmly believe that this new software will eliminate past delivery problems that caused many of you to register multiple addresses. Any e-mail address you no longer wish to have used, simply do not reply to the Request for Confirmation e-mail and that address will be removed from our system.
Please put office@danbrule.com in your address book or "white list" so the Newsletter is not blocked by your anti spam software. This is the most common user reason for you to fail to receive your Monthly NewsLetter.
